SYSU projects receive funding from NSFC in 2016

The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the evaluation results of 2016 projects recently. So far, 637 projects of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) have received funding from NSFC in 2016, and the total funding amounts to over 300 million yuan. This year the number of SYSU projects funded by NSFC is ranked 3rd and the total funding is ranked 5th among universities nationwide.

The project led by Professor Song Erwei receives funding by Science Fund for Creative Research Groups, the fifth SYSU project funded under this category so far. SYSU has 14 recipients of the Excellent Young Scientists Fund this year, doubling the number of last year, and ranked 5th among universities nationwide. It is noteworthy that this year SYSU has 278 projects funded by Young Scientists Fund, ranked 2nd among universities nationwide.

The data will be updated when the evaluation results for National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and Programs of Joint Funds are announced by NSFC.
