The 7th Annual Meeting for the Asian New Humanities Net Convened at SYSU
Focusing on “Maritime Cross-Cultural Exchange: An Interdisciplinary Consideration in Asia-Pacific Region, the 7th Annual Meeting for the Asian New Humanities Net was convened on the South Campus of SYSU on November 28 - 29. SYSU Vice-President Chen Chunsheng attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech and the director of Asia-Pacific Research Institute Conference Takeshi gave a keynote address.
A total of nearly 50 specialists from universities both home and abroad, such as George Mason University, University of Minnesota, Huntington Library, Korea Maritime University, Ewha Women's University, National University of Singapore, Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, China Taiwan Academia Sinica, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Social Academy of Sciences, Guangdong Provincial Academy of Social Sciences, Xiamen University, Sun Yat-sen University, carried out multidisciplinary, multi-perspective interpretations, discussions regarding the history of maritime trade and the maritime cultural exchanges in the Asia-Pacific region, the Asia-Pacific country studies and the theories of cross-cultural research and its comparison.
The meeting was jointly sponsored by the School of Asian-Pacific Studies of Sun Yat-sen University and the Research Institute for the Humanities with the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
