SYSU Joins Hands with Shunde District, Foshan, to Build South China Solar Energy Research Institute

On the morning of November 25, SYSU vice president Xu Long and deputy chief of Shunde District, Foshan City, Su Weibo, signed a cooperation agreement on "Co-establishment of the South China Solar Energy Research Institute". Under the agreement, the South China Solar Energy Research Institute will be built into a R & D base mainly focusing on photovoltaic components, systems and application technology to provide mature technologies for the development of photovoltaic industry in Shunde District, Foshan City, in an effort to help build Shude into a hub of photovoltaic technology, technology exchange center, research and development center, application and demonstration area and "Sunshine City", in 3-5 years. To jointly build the “South China Solar Energy Research Institute" is an import step for SYSU to implement the Outline of Pearl River Delta Regional Plan on Reformation and Development, to serve the overall economic and social development of the Pearl River Delta. After the signing ceremony, Professor Sehn Hui from the solar energy system research institute of SYSU, gave the keynote address.
