Ceremony for the 55th Teaching Anniversary of Academician Lin Hao-ran and the Establishment of Fund of Academician Lin Hao-ran Held

November 28th, the ceremony for the 55th teaching anniversary of Academician Lin Hao-ran–and- the establishment of Fund of Academician Lin Hao-ran was held in Hall of Huaishi of the South Campus. Executive deputy secretary of the school, Liang Qingyin, Vice-President Xu Anlong attended the celebration, school-related departments, faculty leadership of College of Life Science, guests who had donated to the fund , as well as more than 200 colleagues and students of Academician LIN Hao-ran who came from around the world attended the meeting.

Shu Wensheng, executive deputy dean of College of Life Science, introduced the ups and downs of the 55 years’ of teaching of Academician LIN Hao-ran, Vice President Xu Anlong announced the establishment of the Fund of Academician LIN Hao-ran. Director of the Management Committee of Academician LIN Hao-ran Foundation, dean of the School of Life Sciences, Song Yangzhou, imparted the background of the establishment of the Fund of Academician LIN Hao-ran to the guests. Subsequently, a simple but solemn donation ceremony was held in the venue, Song Yangzhou took over a donation check from the delegate of donation, and presented plates of acknowledgment to each delegate of donation in return.

Liang Qingyin, executive deputy secretary of the school, warmly congratulated the ceremony for the 55th teaching anniversary of Academician LIN Hao-ran and the establishment of Fund of Academician LIN Hao-ran on behalf of the school, and thanked Academician LIN Hao-ran for his outstanding contributions to Sun Yat-sen University in the past 55 years and hoped that Academician Lin will continue making contributions to the developmental of SYSU.

At last, Academician Lin Hao-ran quoted what Principal Huang Daren had said on the Presentation Ceremony of the first Sun Yat-sen Distinguished Service Award, that our life is limited, but Sun Yat-sen University will be eternal, devoting the limited life into the cause of infinite is the most glorious thing of his life.
