Inauguration Ceremony of MBA Center Building of Lingnan College

November 29th, the Lingnan MBA Center building, which was built with a donation of more than 40 million Hong Kong dollars from Lingnan alumni at home and abroad, was inaugurated. Nearly 500 people attended the ceremony, including former Deputy Minister of Education Wu Qidi, president of Hong Kong Lingnan University, Chan Yushu, Honorary Chairman of the Board of Lingnan (University) College of Sun Yet-sen University, Wu Zhande, Huang Bingli, Liu Rui, the Chairman of the Board Chan Wangxiong, Vice-Chairman Dai Lansun, Huang Dachen, Shu Yuan, the consultant Wu Shuqing, the old leadership Zeng Hanmin, Lu Guangqi, Li Baojian, former Vice Chairman of Guangdong Political Consultative Conference, Zhang Zhanxia, designer of Lingnan MBA Center Building Chen Huai, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee Li Ping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President Yu Shiyou, Secretary of the Party Committee of Lingnan College Zhang Wenbiao, alumni, guests from Canada, Hong Kong, Beijing, Guangzhou and other places as well as persons in charge of various functional departments, teachers and students. The ceremony was presided over by Deputy Secretary, Vice-President Yu Shiyou.

Professor Wu Qidi, Deputy Secretary Li Ping, and Dr. Chen Wanxiong acknowledged respectively at the ceremony and congratulated on the completion of the building. They entrusted the students of Lingnan College to cherish what they have at present and make efforts to serve the community simultaneously.

Minister of Education Yuan Guiren, the former director of State Education Commission Zhu Kaixuan, sent a congratulatory letter, thanked the older generation of the Lingnan fellow students for their patriotism and the contributions they made to the educational cause of motherland, and hoped that Lingnan College will obtain greater achievements.

The Ribbon-cutting Ceremony of the completion of Lingnan MBA Center Building, the opening ceremony of the lecture hall of Lingnan MBA Center Building, and the unveiling ceremony of the sculpture "Lingnan bull" took place subsequently.

In 2004, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Lingnan College, Dr. Wu Zhande took an initiative in making donation for Lingnan MBA Center Building. In the following five years, with multi-running, the board of directors was dedicated to raise the funds of the building construction, and did a lot of painstaking work in the process of building construction. Lingnan alumni, friendly personage from around the world such as Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai, Beijing and Canada, and enrolled students, faculty and staff, responded positively and donated generously. The total contributions was over 40 million Hong Kong dollars. Under the support of school and various functional departments, Education Foundation, Lingnan MBA Center Building was completed by the end of this year, with a 10 storey building covering over 8000 square meters, used mainly for teaching.
