20 Young Teachers from SYSU nominated for 2009 “New Century Excellent Talents Award Program”

The name list for the “New Century Excellent Talents Award Program” from the Education Ministry was formally announced the other day. 20 young teachers from SYSU had entered the list: Chen Sipeng, Chen Zunyu, Cheng Hui, Jia Weihua, Kang Yuejun, Liu Xiaoping, Luo Yan, Ren Qiang, Wang Fan, Wang Qing, Xia Min, Xiong Minghui, Yao Haimin, Yu Fengyan, Yue Jinglun, Zhang Chao, Zhang Peng, Zheng Hao, Zheng Junlei and Zhou Jie.

The “New Century Excellent Talents Award Program” is the second project for talents cultivation and supporting among the ministry of education’s three “New Century Top Innovative Talents Programs”. The program aims to cultivate and support a large number of academic leaders with solid research foundation, outstanding innovation as well as developing potential, providing them with financial support for their creative research work and national key scientific research task, it also helps build a platform and create better condition with the aim of fostering prominent academic leaders. The program selects approximately 1000 excellent young academic leaders in the fields of natural sciences and humanities as well as social sciences.
