International Symposium on “Industry Democracy - Building Harmonious Labor Relationship” Held Successfully
In order to focus on China’s current problems, share international experience, integrate the intelligence and power of talented scholars home and abroad and provide theoretic and experiential reference for our country to further construct harmonious labor relationship, the international symposium on “Industry Democracy --- Building Harmonious Labor Relationship”, hosted jointly by the School of Government, the Institute of Social Security and Social Policy of Administration the Research Center and Shanghai Office of German Albert Foundation, took place on April 23 and 24.
The symposium invited over 20 experts from German, America, Korean, Vietnam and China. The experts had a lively discussion on four big topics – “Worker representatives of Union-free enterprises”, “Enterprise Union represents the workers”, “enhance the external incentive factors for labor rights” as well as “Enterprise liability – a tool to enhance labor rights?” Scholars from different areas, incorporating the local experiences and practices, shared the various forms, development and change routes under different social structures as well as its implications.
