World-renowned Immunology Professors Sharing Academic Insights at SYSU

Hosted by Professor Song Yangzhou, dean of the School of Life Sciences, 14th Session of State Key Laboratory Series Lecture on Harmful Biological Control and Resource Utilization was held at He Danqing Hall at Sun Yat-sen University on 19 May. Five world-renowned ethnic Chinese immune scientists were invited to address academic reports for the lecture. President Huang Daren and Professor Xu Anlong, Deputy University President, greeted the visiting scientists and held talks meeting with them after the lecture.

The invited ethnic Chinese immunologists included Professor Liu Yongjun, an expert on dendritic cells immunology from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, U.S., Professor Chen Lieping, an expert on costimulatory molecules and T cell immunology from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Professor Wang Rongfu, an expert on tumor immunology from Baylor College of Medicine, Professor Cheng Genhong, an expert on immune cell signaling from the University of California, Los Angeles, and Assistant Professor Qin Xiaofeng, an immunology expert from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, U.S.. Five experts shared with more than 300 University teachers and student their academic insights on basic research and clinic application of oncology and immunology. Professor Liang Hao, Professor He Jianguo, Professor Zhuang Shimei, Professor Lu Yongjun and other faculty members attended the lecture and discussed with the invited professors. The lecture is aimed at establishing a platform for the exchange and cooperation between faculty members from SYSU and world-renowned experts, so as to polish the reputation of SYSU worldwide in related research fields.
