Robin P. Fawcett, A Famous Scholar in the Field of International Systemic Functional Linguistics Visited the School of International Studies
On the afternoon of May 18, Robin P. Fawcett, a famous scholar in the field of International Systemic Functional Linguistics and Professor of Cardiff University, England, launched an academic lecture titled “Introduction to the second version of Systemic Functional Linguistics: the Cardiff Model” for the teachers and students of the School of International Studies. Teachers and graduate students from the Department of Translation and Interpreting, Department of BC and Department of Chinese as Foreign Language attended the lecture which was presided over by Professor Huang Guowen.
Robin P. Fawcett is an emeritus professor of the Language and Communication Center of Cardiff University, England and is the father of Cardiff Grammar. He mainly engages in the research of general linguistics, systemic functional linguistics, computational linguistics, language formation as well as language acquisition. Professor Robin P. Fawcett’s brief but profound lecture was well received by the teachers and students of the School of International Studies.
