School of Chinese as A Second Language Organized Training Classes to Train Chinese-language Teachers of Philippine
School of Chinese as a Second Language (SCSL) organized training classes for Philippine Chinese-language teachers from May 23rd to June 5th. The Eight trainees in the training class come from universities, middle schools and primary schools across the Philippines, and they all have years of experience in Chinese teaching. Courses including Modern Chinese Grammar, Second Foreign Language Teaching Methodology, Standard Pronunciation in Mandarin Chinese, Chinese Calligraphy Art, Tai Chi Chuan and Chinese Culture etc. were offered by SCSL according to various needs of the students. Teachers of these courses are all experienced in their field. SCSL, moreover, has also arranged many cultural visits for the students. The Philippine students say that they have improved a lot in Chinese and Chinese-teaching, and have also obtained profound understanding about Chinese culture and society through these activities. In a word, they have gained a great deal from the event.
