The 2010 IEEE “RFID Technology and Application” International Conference Held at SYSU
The “RFID Technology and Application” international conference, which is hosted by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE), is held at SYSU from June 17th to 19th. It is the first time that such a conference has been held in a country outside of the USA. Chen Xin, deputy director of Guangdong Science and Technology Department, chief engineer of Guangzhou Mucipal Science and Information Technology Bureau Wu Zeqi, assistant principal of SYSU Xia Lianghui, ex-president of IEEE-SMC William Gruver and representative of IEEE-RFID Technical Committee Emily Sopensky attended the opening ceremony and gave reports. Also attended were experts and scholars from the USA, Canada, Japan, Sweden, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
As an automatic identification (Auto ID) technology, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) can automatically recognize objects and get the relevant data through Radio Frequency Signal. It is free of artificial adjustment and is able to work under adverse circumstances. The technology can be applied to recognize high speed moving objects and identify multiple labels with handiness and immediacy.
The conference carried out exchanges on and probed into “antenna and radio frequency”, "supply chain and its security”, "RFID application” and “RFID algorithm”. Scholars from different regions aired their own views on technical problems, research approaches, actual applications and future prospects of RFID.
