Academician Zen Yixin, Chen Xiaoming, and Da An Gene Short-listed for Guangdong “Double Ten” Selection

Recently, the Publicity Department of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee announced the shortlist of "Top Ten Creative People in Guangdong" and "Guangdong Top Ten Innovative Enterprise" selection (the "Double Ten" selection), respectively including 25 candidates. SYSU academician Zen Yixin and Chen Xiaoming are both nominated for “Top Ten Creative People in Guangdong" and SYSU Da An Gene Co. is for "Guangdong Top Ten Innovative Enterprise".

Since its inception in April of this year, the “Double Ten” selection has gathered great attention. As of July 31, the organizing committee has received 295 applications from various units, among which 142 people applied for “Creative People” and 153 enterprises for "Innovative Enterprise”. There are 6 academicians in the 25-people-shortlist for “Creative People”, accounting for 24%; 18 candidates are from the business sector and more than 70% of them represents non-public enterprise. Among the 25 enterprises selected by experts, 21 of them have registered capital of over 21 billion yuan. These individuals and companies, in their posts and industry, have actively promotes innovation in terms of science and technology, management, institution, and research methods, making great contribution to building the New Guangdong.
