Award Ceremony for 2010 SYSU Financial Software Application
On sep. 15, the award ceremony for 2010 SYSU Financial Software Application Competition & ‘Citygroup Cup’ Finance and IT Application Competition - Campus Trials took place at the lecture room of the Schoolof Software at the east campus. Qi Xiaoping, Director of Student Affairs Office, Huang Shan, Secretary of the school’s Youth league committee, judge representatives, faculty and student representatives from the School of Software, School of Information Science & Technology, School of Business and LingNanCollege, as well as representatives of the competing teams, attended the ceremony. The whole ceremony was presided over by Tan Yingyue, deputy Secretary of School of Software.
Tan Yingyao, Secretary-General of the Organization Committee of the competition, gave an account of the organization work of the competition. After that, Chen Changlin, deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office, announced the commendation decision, and then the judges and administrative officials presented the awards to the winning teams. Representatives of the winning teams shared their experiences. Finally, Director Qi and Secretary Huang made the summary speech, in which they expressed their congratulations to the winning students and the hope that the students, inspired by this competition, would continue to carry forward a good study atmosphere. Students were also encouraged to integrate classroom learning with experiential learning and to actively take part in scientific research related competitions and activities.
'Citygroup Cup’ Finance and IT Application Competition is a nation-wide competition hosted once a year by the Citygroup. SYSU have been holding such contests on campus every year since 2008. The contest, hosted by Student Affairs Office and League Committee of the university and co-hosted by the league committees of several other schools and departments, aims to select outstanding teams to join the national competition. This competition attracted about 300 students from 12 Schools and departments. The 2010 national finals will be held in November.
