"The outline of Zhanjiang’s development of being a scientific development pilot city with coordinated urban and rural areas and ecological civilization” has published its final achievement Introspection and Exploration: The Development of Zhanjiang under the guidance of the Scientific Outlook on Development (The Development of Zhanjiang for short). Entrusted by Zhanjiang Municipal Committee in 2009, the project was undertaken by Managing Deputy Secretary Liang Qingyin of our university’s Party Committee, as well as other nine professors from five liberal arts and science schools. The Development of Zhanjiang provides important reference for Zhanjiang and other places to formulate scientific development plans. Its accomplishment fully demonstrates our university’s spiritual mission of serving the local. This achievement has received the written instructions from Xu Shaohua, the general secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.

The written instructions states, The Development of Zhanjiang led by Liang Qingyu of SYSU has gone through stages of deep investigation and systematic comparative analysis, it is of both theoretical and practical significance, which will give the local constructive guidance for promoting scientific development. In addition, it provides important references for other less developed areas, and it is recommended that leaders concerned use it as a reference.
