Ten New Undergraduate Disciplines Were Added in SYSU

On the basis of “State Council’s Decision on Administrative Licensing of Items Requiring the Administrative Examination and Approval” (State Council Order NO.412) and “Institution of Higher Learning Undergraduate Disciplines Setting Rules”, with comments and opinions from Ministry of Education Disciplines Development and Setting Committee of Experts and professional advices on medical and public security from Ministry of Health, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Education announced the results of examination and approval of 2010 Institution of Higher Learning Disciplines Setting. Altogether ten new disciplines were added in Sun Yat-sen University, which are Advertising, Communication, Geological Engineering, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (Engineering Degree Granted) Energy and Resources Project, Chemical Biology, Hotel Management, Biosystem Engineering, Information Display and Photoelectric Technology and Intelligent Science and Technology. Until now, there have been 112 qualified undergraduate disciplines in Sun Yat-sen University.
