10 Professors of SYSU Granted the 2010 Special Allowance by the State Council

In recent days, the name list of people who are granted the Special Allowance by the State Council has been released. Ten professors of SYSU have been granted the Special Allowance for the year 2010. They are: Prof. Ma Jun from the School of Government, Prof. Li Zhongfei from Lingnan College, Prof. Zhou Daming from the School of Sociology and Anthropology, Prof. Wang Xuehua from the School of Physics and Engineering, Prof. Zhuang Shimei from the School of Life Sciences, Prof. Chen Wen from the School of Public Health, Prof. Huang Min from the School of Pharmaceutical Science, Prof. Yu Minbin from Zhong Shan Ophthalmic Center, Prof. Li Xinchun from Business School and Prof. Wu Zhongkai from the First Affiliated Hospital. So far, our staffs who have been granted this allowance have amounted to 559 people.

The Special Allowance is granted by the Party Central Committee and the State Council for the experts, scholars and technologists who have made prominent contributions. It is granted twice a year, each time for 4,000 people. People who enjoy this allowance must be experts, scholars and technologists who have made major contributions and prominent achievements in the forefront of industrial and agricultural production as well as in areas like science and technology, education, culture, health, etc.
