Guangdong Province Introduced One Innovative Research Team and Four Leading Talents from SYSU

On June 2, the award ceremony of the Second Introduction of Innovative Research Teams and Leading Talents in Guangdong was held. Targeting Specific Anti-cancer Medicine and Vaccine Research Team of SYSU was awarded the Innovative Research Team in this ceremony. Four professors Jean-MarieLehn, Huang Peng, Liu Lin and Yu Siyuan were awarded Leading Talents.

To implement the strategy of reinvigorating the province through human resource development, in 2008, Guangdong Province came out with Opinions on Attracting and Cultivating High Level Talents and put forward measures to introduce innovative research teams and leading talents by large sum of money, which has attracted great attention at home and abroad. In 2009, with 438 million RMB, Guangdong Province introduced 11 innovative research teams and 14 leading talents, among which 3 innovative research teams and 2 leading talents were contributed by SYSU.
