Science and Technology Daily reported, on July 3rd, the opening ceremony of Guangdong’s first experiment center for Open Internet of Things(IOT) technology application“SYSU-King Wisdom Internet of Things Experiment Center”— was held in SYSU East Campus in Guangzhou University Town. This experiment center was jointly established by Guangdong King Wisdom Internet of Things Technology Co. Ltd and Sun Yat-Sen University.

It is known that at present 37 universities have set up Internet of Things Engineering major, Sensor Networks major and other related majors in China. Internet of Things experiment center has become an important development trend of Internet of Things major in universities, and it is an essential way for universities to train Internet of Things talents and improve administration.

Based on cloud computing integrated model, this Internet of Things Experiment Center adopts comprehensive virtualized-networks and hasacentral nervous system like an intelligent brain. It has realized modularity of application ports and generalization and standardization of architecture base. This center could provide mobile and open type practical training for teachers’ and students’ teaching and scientific research of Internet of Things, wireless sensor network, comprehensive innovation and other special subjects. Integrated with all the labs of SYSU, it provides shared services, such as mining, analysis and processing of data, and also be used for R&D and simulation tests of application projects for Internet of Things companies. Currently, it has opened up Wisdom lighting monitoring system platform, Wisdom assets positioning and management system platform, Wisdom network resources management platform, Wisdom food traceability tracking system platform, and mixed perception experiment boxsystem platform. Committed to promote the development of Internet of Things industry in Guangdong, this center will give full play to its technology platforms, explore market demand, facilitate the technology transformation and application, extend technology application fields, create advanced application context, research and develop innovative technologies, so as to lead the technological innovation and application promotion of Internet of Things in Guangdong Province.
