[Reported by Beijing Times] Recently, Xu Ningsheng, President of Sun Yat-sen University received an interview in Beijing. He advocated that “ SYSU would put the heart towards undergraduate teaching” this year, which means the university is going to attach more importance to undergraduate teaching and concerns more about students. Correspondingly, SYSU is going to put forward a series of measures to enhance the quality of undergraduate education. In terms of introducing talents, SYSU is going to change the one-sided emphasis on academic achievement and will consider teaching a necessary condition.
