What kind of agricultural products are safe? Now there’s an opportunity for the public to oversee the food safety with experts. Yesterday, the public service alliance called Green Basket Production Team initiated by School of Life Sciences, SYSU and College of Food Science, South China Agricultural University (SCAU), was officially started up. Citizens joining the alliance have the opportunity to oversee the source of the agricultural products, and they can check the safety according to the mechanism specially set up by food experts.

In recent years, the safety of agricultural products has been a highlighted issue. Reportedly, the public service alliance Green Basket Production Team is a non-profit organization voluntarily formed by School of Life Sciences, SYSU, College of Food Science, SCAU and the common consumers. In company with food experts, the public can investigate the production base, monitor the environment and detect the safety, supervising the environment of agricultural products base for green and healthy food.
