Yesterday, organized by Guangzhou Daily, “2012 Higher Education Enrollment Online Consultation” continued. Xu Yue, Deputy Director of Admission Office of Sun Yat-sen University and Yu Xiaozheng, Director of Admission Office of Guangdong University of Business Studies attended the online live interview. Xu Yue warned that the sequence of the applied universities still counts in a parallel application system and students should be cautious about this when applying to universities.
SYSU: Teachers from any country must teach undergraduates
SYSU has planned to enroll around 8,000 undergraduates in 2012 (including 300 oversea Chinese students and students from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan). It is anticipated that the admissions within Guangdong Province this year will be 4100 (including various special enrollments and reserved enrollments), roughly the same number as that of last year.
According to Deputy Director Xu Yue, SYSU dedicates itself to cultivating students into ones who have humanistic concern, international vision and multidisciplinary knowledge, and who can be the elites with charisma in any line of business.
The cultivation philosophy of SYSU has been inculcated into the whole undergraduate education system and has been institutionalized. When the university recruits teachers globally, one provision in the contract is that excellent teachers must conduct undergraduate teaching.
