According to the National Planning Office, the first batch of National Social Science Foundation Academic Journal has come out, and the Journal of Sun Yat-sen University (Social Science Edition) is named to this list.

It is said that 347 journals have applied for the fund this time. Based on the recommendation of experts, the opinions of the region (department), comprehensive ranking of the journal, demonstration of the application, and the opinions of the publication bureau of the Publicity Department of CPC, Department of Newspapers and Periodicals of General Administration of Press and Publication and Department of Social Sciences of Ministry of Education, 100 journals have been named to the list after the approval and announcement of the Publicity Department of CPC. The aim of the National Social Science fund for journals is to ameliorate the running conditions of the academic journals, improve the quality of publication and enlarge academic spreading capacity and social influence, through focused and continuous financial aid. Each journal receives 400,000 RMB financial support each year, which is used for improving the journal's quality and influence.

This is another achievement of Journal of Sun Yat-sen University (Social Science Edition) after being selected into 2011 quality college publications of philosophy and social science awarded by the Ministry of Education.
