The 16th General Assembly of the Members of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) concluded recently in Beijing. The President of CAS and Executive Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Presidium of CAS Dr. Bai Chunli delivered an important speech at the closing session.


According to the deliberation results of the Seventeenth Session of the Six and the First Session of the Seven Presidium of the Academic Divisions of CAS (CASAD), Academician Xu Ningsheng, President of Sun Yat-sen University was elected to the 15th Standing Committee of Academic Division of Information Technical Sciences and to the 3rd Committee for Scientific Popularization and Publication of CASAD. Academician Chen Xiaoming was elected to the 15th Standing Committee of Academic Division of Chemistry. Academician Zeng Yixin, who used to be Deputy Director of the 14th Standing Committee of Academic Division of Life Science and Medicine, will no longer hold related post in the standing committee of this academic division since his two years tenure expired.
