The result of the first excellent college public physical education lessons appraisal of Guangdong Province is announced recently. The appraisal was hosted by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province and Guangdong Supervisory Committee for Physical Education in Schools. Over a hundred universities and colleges in Guangdong took part in the activity, and two public physical education lessons of the School of Education, SYSU won awards: Swimming taught by Zhao Yunlei earned the first prize and Badminton taught by Li Yin gained the second prize.

Zhao Yunlei and Li Yin are two young backbone teachers at the Department of Physical Education. The School of Education formed a special group composed of school and department leaders in charge of teaching and experts to guide the participants. In addition, the School of Education invited teachers from the Network and Information Technology Center to shoot and edit the videos of the participating lessons. The two award-winning lessons received unanimous praise from the expert panel for their rigorous and clear teaching links, scientific and flexible teaching methods, appropriate teaching plans and high-quality video recording. The two lessons demonstrated the level of teaching of public physical education courses in SYSU, showed the professional proficiency of our P.E. teachers and earned honor for our university.
