Recently, hosted by China Poetry Education Society and the Department of Chinese at Sun Yat-sen University, the Traditional Poetry and Contemporary Poetry Education Seminar and the 2nd Annual Meeting of China Poetry Education Society was held on Zhuhai Campus. Over 40 scholars and poets from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan attended the meeting, including Professor Chen Yongzheng from SYSU, Professor Shi Yidui from University of Macau, Professor Huang Kunyao from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Professor Wang Lijian from Natiaonal Central University, Taiwan. 23 academic papers and A Fine Collection of Lingding Yang by colleagues in poetry education were received in the meeting.
  Professor Zhang Haiou, Executive Vice President of China Poetry Education Society, reported on the work of the Society. The seminar discussed issues on the continuous development, centennial history and styles of traditional poetry; rhyme of poetry; and poetry education in colleges and universities. 11 new council members of the Society were elected and the organizer of the next China College Students Poetry Contest and the academic seminar was decided.
