A delegation from Interdisciplinary Division of Biomedical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (BME at PolyU) headed by Professor Yong-ping ZHENG, visited School of Engineering, SYSU on January 17. Professor Daniel H.K. CHOW and Associate Professor Mo YANG were also in the delegation. The delegation visited laboratories of Biomedical Engineering, Mechanics, Transportation Engineering, and Energy & Safety Engineering in the Building of School of Engineering. Both sides held a joint cooperation meeting in Biomedical Engineering.
Professor Qing JIANG, Dean of School of Engineering, met with the guests, accompanied by Associate Dean Jie-min ZHAN, Assistant Dean Chao ZHANG, Associate Professor Rong SONG and Lecturer Jie LIU, etc. Furthermore, Associate Professor Yi-hong GONG, Associate Professor Chang-qing YI, and Associate Professor Jian-hua ZHOU attended the joint cooperation meeting with BME at PolyU.
In the joint cooperation meeting, Professor Yong-ping ZHENG, Acting Head, introduced the history, faculty, programmes, and research areas of BME at PolyU. While Professor Jie-min ZHAN introduced School of Engineering and highlighted its history and development, disciplines and research fields, faculty and students, and internationalization, etc. Both sides exchanged views on students exchange, research collaborations, joint-supervision scheme, summer program, and joint establishment of institute, etc. And both sides hoped that a long term mutual benefit cooperation relationship should be established in order to promote joint cultivation and discipline establishment.
