SCSL Held Signing Ceremony for Business Chinese Internship Programs

On the morning of April 20, the Signing Ceremony for 2013 Internship Programs for Business Chinese Majors was held in School of Chinese as a Second Language (SCSL). SCSL signed agreements with Guangzhou Love Case Garments Co., Ltd., Brocade Grande Fashion (GZ) Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Great Water Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. and International Online Education Center Limited. The attendees of the ceremony included Yin Xiaochuan, Deputy Director of the University Dean’s Office; Zhou Xiaobing, Dean of SCSL; Zhang Shitao, Deputy Dean of SCSL; Zhang Nian, Head of the Department of Chinese; Nasser, Vocational Training Consultant of the Department of Chinese; delegates of the enterprises and 25 senior international students of the Department of Chinese, SCSL.

Deputy Director Yin Xiaochuan indicated that field practice is an important part of the undergraduate study. Undergraduates should apply theories to practices. SYSU focuses a lot on field practice and is very supportive to SCSL on this aspect. On behalf of SCSL, Deputy Dean Zhang Shitao thanked the enterprises for offering internships to senior undergraduates. He introduced to the entrepreneurs the international students’ general situation, with special focus on the curriculum, internships and employment status after graduation. The delegates from the enterprises also introduced the development of their companies and their need of different international talents. They expressed their willingness to cooperate with SCSL and help with the cultivation of talents for mutual development. Professor Zhou Xiaobing, Dean of SCSL, signed the internship cooperation agreements with each entrepreneur.

During the signing ceremony, the senior international students majoring in Business Chinese of the Department of Chinese had an opportunity to communicate with the entrepreneurs on matters they were concerned about. The entrepreneurs were impressed with the business professional competence of the international students.

This is the second time that SCSL signs internship cooperation agreements with enterprises. The first signing ceremony was held in 2011. The number of enterprises involved expands from two to four, covering industries from clothing to environmental protection, education, etc. This provides the international students from SCSL with more opportunities for business internships.

SCSL hopes to develop an international cultivation model for business talents through cooperating with different enterprises for internship programs and building Business Chinese field practice bases which will benefit both the international development of enterprises and the entrepreneurship and development of the international students.
