SYSU researchers win Guangdong Patent Award and Golden Bridge Award

The result of 2013 Guangdong Patent Award was announced recently. SYSU Professor Su Weiwei’s project “Uses of Naringenin, Naringin and Salts thereof as Expectorants in the Treatment of Cough, and Compositions thereof” won the 2013 Guangdong Excellent Patent Award. This patent provides core technology for a medicine for relieving cough and removing phlegm, and promotes the application and development of Traditional Chinese Medicine technology. This award also shows that SYSU promotes the transformation of patent and the elevation of original innovation capability.

In addition, Wang Xiaosong from the Office of Science Research and Development of SYSU won the Outstanding Individual Award in the appraisal of the 6th Golden Bridge Award of China Technology Market Association. The Golden Bridge Award, established with the approval of the National Office for Science & Technology Awards, is an award with the highest authority in the national technology market. The Outstanding Individual Award is granted to individuals who make outstanding contributions to technological innovation and development.
