The project entitled “Innovative Practices of Construction and Management of Daya Bay Petrochemical Industrial Park” successfully passed the expert group’s appraisal in Huizhou Science and Technology Bureau on the morning of April 19.
The achievement of this project lies mainly in five aspects: first, implementing scientific planning, and establishing upstream, midstream and downstream industrial chains; second, setting up advanced managerial system, carrying out six integrated management systems and closed-off management within the industrial park; third, building science and technology innovation mechanism, setting up science and technology innovation park, and bringing in universities and scientific research institutions to establish research and development institutes; fourth, building good collaborative relationships with universities and scientific research institutes, and setting up an industry-university-research model that is guided by government, participated by many institutions and operated by market; and fifth, adopting innovative measures in high-end talent cultivation for the industrial park.
In the project, Sun Yat-sen University has taken measures to make full use of its human resources in science and technology to serve local development, including sending professionals to local areas; implementing the policy of “building one research institute in one city, and sending one researcher to serve a temporary position in the city”; using its talent advantages in chemistry and chemical engineering to set up Huizhou Research Institute of Sun Yat-sen University; carrying out government-industry-university-research collaboration and helping Huizhou develop petrochemical industry and fine chemical industry.
The participating institutions of the project are Huizhou Daya Bay (national) Economic and Technological Development Zone Administrative Commission, Sun Yat-sen University, CNOOC OIL & PETROCHEMICALS CO., LTD Huizhou Refining & Petrochemicals Co., China National Petroleum and Chemical Planning Institute and Huizhou Research Institute of Sun Yat-sen University. Ji Hongbing and Zeng Hui from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of SYSU, as well as Wu Haibo and Sun Xue from Huizhou Research Institute participated in the project.
