SYSU signed agreement with Tsinghua University and Chinese Academy of Sciences to co-build collaborative innovation center for mathematical sciences

Recently, Professor Shing-Tung Yau, Director of Mathematical Sciences Center of Tsinghua University, Member of United States National Academy of Sciences and Winner of Fields Medal; Wang Yuefei, Professor of Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences; and Professor Zhu Xiping, Assistant President of Sun Yat-sen University and Dean of School of Mathematics & Computational Science, on behalf of the three core units respectively, signed the “cultivation plan of collaborative innovation center for mathematical sciences” at Tsinghua University in Beijing.

With the official launching of the “2011 Plan” of the Ministry of Education, the cooperation among the School of Mathematics & Computational Science at SYSU, the Mathematical Sciences Center and the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Tsinghua, and the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science at Chinese Academy of Sciences have been strengthened. Through friendly communication and negotiation, the three units have decided to co-build the collaborative innovation center for mathematical sciences.
