Dr. Norden E. Huang, member of National Academy of Engineering (USA), visited SYSU

Dr. Norden E. Huang, a world-renowned data scientist, member of National Academy of Engineering (USA), member of Academia Sinica (Taiwan) and a foreign member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, paid an academic visit to SYSU on June 27-30, and delivered a lecture entitled “A plea for adaptive data analysis” at the International Distinguished Computational Scientists Forum organized by Guangdong Province Key Laboratory of Computational Science. The lecture brought the forefront of research in adaptive data analysis to the teachers and students at SYSU, and sparked heated discussions.

President Xu Ningsheng met with Dr. Norden E. Huang. During the visit, Dr. Huang offered insightful opinions and suggestions on the application of Tianhe-2 Supercomputer at Guangzhou Supercomputing Center in data processing and analysis, especially big data analysis.
