The State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies assessed as an excellent lab

Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology announced the assessment result of state key laboratories in materials science. Four labs are assessed as excellent, including the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies at SYSU.

In the past five years, the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies has explored new functions, effects and device applications of new optoelectronic micro/nano-materials and formed its distinctive research characteristics. With a batch of high-level talents, the lab is at the frontier of academic research in several areas and has become one of the sources of pioneering technological innovations. With major progress in lab construction and many high-level research achievements, it is assessed as an excellent laboratory.

In recent years, SYSU has increased support for the state and provincial/ministerial key laboratories in running expenses to strengthen management and improve their academic level and status. The state key laboratories at SYSU play an important role in gathering top talents, undertaking major research tasks and promoting collaborative innovation, thus making greater contributions to the implementation of the strategy of development driven by innovation as well as the construction of an innovative country.
