The Symposium on Guangdong and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road was held yesterday at Sun Yat-sen University, and the Research Institute of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road was also established. Li Chunhong, Director of Guangdong Development and Reform Committee, said that Guangdong is the province with the largest volume of economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN countries.
At yesterday’s symposium, the Research Institute of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road was officially established. The institute is built on the basis of the Institute for South China Seas Reginal Studies, the Research Institute for National Soft Power, the School of Asia-Pacific Studies and the School of Marine Sciences at Sun Yat-sen University, in collaboration with several universities and institutions, and in accordance with Guangdong’s relevant requirements of building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. It aims to become a first-class research and policy consulting institute in the fields related to the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
