Dean Wang Fan of Business School Was Elected as the Sole Asian Representative to Be a Member of EQUIS Accreditation Committee

At 4:00 p.m. on June 7, 2018 in Copenhagen, Denmark (local time), Professor Wang Fan of Business School, Sun Yat-sen University was elected as one of seven members of EQUIS Accreditation Committee at the EFMD global annual meeting, becoming the sole representative of Asian region among them.

The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) is the world’s top platform for theory innovation, research and practice, as well as information exchange and dialogue in management development. The minister of Ministry of Higher Education and Science of Denmark, deans of hundreds of top business schools around the world, as well as senior executives of famous enterprises and management consulting companies attended the global annual meeting held in Copenhagen. EFMD also elected the new members of EQUIS Accreditation Committee for the strict business school quality accreditation system of global management education institutions. The members elected will be responsible for the development and revision of EQUIS accreditation standards and procedures and the review of EQUIS accreditation applications from business schools around the world in some coming years.

Introduction to Professor Wang Fan



Professor Wang Fan was the Asian champion of the 1998 ACM-ICPC World Final. In 2002, he won the first prize of Beijing Higher Educational Teaching Achievements. In 2008, he won the IBM Global University Teacher Research Award. In 2009, he was elected as one of “Top ten business school professors in China” by the annual meeting of World Executive. In 2010, he was selected in New Century Talent Supporting Project by the Ministry of Education. In 2012, he was funded by National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. In 2014, he was hired as the specially-appointed professor of Pearl River Scholar by Guangdong Provincial Government. Now he is the standing director of Chinese Research Council of Modern Management, deputy director of Youth Working Committee, and deputy director of Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economic Mathematics and Systems Engineering Society of China, Youth Working Committee.

In recent years, he has published more than 50 research articles on service operation, logistics supply chain management and business intelligence system in international excellent academic journals and at important international academic conferences. He has successively presided over the research projects and management consulting projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (key projects, preeminent youth projects, general projects, youth projects, and joint fund projects with Hong Kong Research Grants Council), Ministry of Education, Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, Innovation Research Fund of Hong Kong Government, IBM International Cooperation Research Fund, as well as many local governments and well-known enterprises at home and abroad, and has made striking industry cooperation research results.
