10 SYSU projects approved as Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund in 2017, third most among universities nationwide

The list of 2017 Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund was recently released by the National Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science. Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) has 10 projects included in the list, third most among universities nationwide after Renmin University of China and Tsinghua University.
In addition the number of SYSU projects approved in 2017 as Annual Projects and Youth Projects of the National Social Science Fund, as well as General Projects of Humanities and Social Sciences Research of the Ministry of Education all leaped to first among universities nationwide. The units in humanities and social sciences at SYSU have 53 projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2017, showcasing the University’s strengths in philosophy and social science research.
