Hans Brunner from Swiss Universite de lausanne Visits Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital
On Oct. 27, professor Hans Brunner from Swiss Universite de lausanne and professor Wang Qing visited Cardiology Department of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital. The Cardiology Department held a symposium on hypertension, in which professor Hans Brunner and Wang Qing lectured respectively on “Treatment for hypertension - problems and opportunities” and “Potassium-rich diet and cardiovascular protection”. Physicians and graduates from relevant departments attended the symposium, carrying out in-depth discussions and exchanging views with the professors.
Professor Hans Brunner, former Director of Department of Hypertension and Vascular, is a famous expert who first conduct researches on renin, angiotensin, and aldosterone system in the world. The lab he founded is world’s most authoritative research center on RAS system. He had served or is serving as the vice President of International Hypertension League and vice Chairman of International Society of Nephrology. He is also acting as the leader of several academic organizations including the American and European Society of Hypertension. Meanwhile, he is assuming the post of Associate Editor and Editorial of 9 acclaimed international magazines on Hypertension.
Professor Wang Qing has been serving at the Department of Hypertension and Kidney of CHV Hospital, Swiss Universite de lausanne, engaging mainly in basic Hypertension studies. In recent years, under the collaboration with the Chinese Society of Hypertension, he has been dedicated to launching and promoting low potassium salt which can substitute traditional high sodium salt to reduce blood pressure levels. In addition to publishing a great many of articles on Hypertension and other journals/magazines, he has also given several plenary reports at the annual conference of International Society of Hypertension, the American Society of Hypertension and the European Society of Hypertension.
