Organized by Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, the seventh Annual Meeting of (Guangzhou) International Association for Humanitarian Medicine (IAHM for short) & the First National Summit Forum about First-aid and Disaster Relief was held in Guangzhou on November 22nd - 26th. Academicians Wang Zhengguo, Zeng Yixin, Zhong Shizhen, president of IAHM, S.W.A. Gunn, SYSU vice president Xu Anlong, former Vice-President Chen Ruzhu, President of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, Shen Huiyong and more than 400 experts at home and abroad attended the event.

Focusing on "first aid and disaster relief", and with " equipments for first aid and disaster relief, equipment exhibition, practice and operation training, presentation about manufacturers’ focus" as highlights, the forum stressed the construction of epidemic prevention system for the public health emergency, the construction and management of emergency response system for disaster, the on-site disaster rescue and medical emergencies, the disposal and management of mass casualty, the health of disaster and epidemic prevention, disaster psychological intervention and rehabilitation, acute treatment and progress in critical illness, etc. President of IAHM, Professor S.W.A. Gunn was present at the forum and made an academic report, and had academic exchanges with renowned Chinese experts such as Wang Yitang, Huang Zitong, Su Zhihong, Liu Zhongmin and so on.

The China Association for Humanitarian Medicine has been sanctioned by IAHM as one of its branch and is in the process of launching. The meeting of Preparatory Committee of China Association for Humanitarian Medicine was held on 22nd, in respect to the founding of the association.
