Professor Xueqing Yu was officially inaugurated as the President of Chinese Society of Nephrology

At the just-concluded 10th committee conference of Chinese Society of Nephrology (CSN), one of the specialty societies of Chinese Medical Association, Professor Xueqing Yu from The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University was formally inaugurated as the President of CSN for a term of three years.

CSN was established in 1980. Through the collaborative effort by several generations, CSN team keeps developing and improving. According to the registration information, there are more than ten thousand experts specializing in renal diseases, and more than six thousand representatives for the annual conference of renal diseases in our nation. At the meeting, Professor Xueqing Yu said that he would continue to make efforts and strengthen cooperation to show China’s scientific power and level to the whole world, as well as emphasize the training for young and middle-aged nephrologists and the staff at grass-roots hospitals to tangibly upgrade their medical service so that the research level and the overall medical power of China’s nephrology could be greatly improved, which would ultimately benefit patients with kidney diseases.

After taking up the position of President officially, Professor Xueqing Yu hosted the annual Blood Purification Forum in 2015 with more than three thousand and five hundred experts in attendance in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, China. In the opening ceremony, the key theme of “harmony, coordination, collaboration, and the quest for development” put forward by Professor Xueqing Yu was highly identified and approved by the participating leaders and experts. The current President Prof. Philip Li, the immediate past President Prof. Joanne Bargman, and the President-elect Prof. Isaac Teitelbaum of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis attended the forum and gave lectures. They all think highly of the extraordinary progress and advancement of China’s peritoneal dialysis.
