ComeEn, a voluntary organization of the School of Foreign Languages (FLS) Youth League Committee at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), has launched three activities for the seventh grade students in Tangjia Middle School in Zhuhai in November, 2015. Together with international teachers and student volunteers, the ComeEn Project Team organized English Salons and Oral English Training Camps for the students.

The Project Team arranged oral English practices of greetings so as to figure out the general condition of the students’ oral English during the first activity. In analyzing problems arising in the practices, considerable experience has been gathered for future activities. Then ComeEn invited the couple Vladimir Nekrasov and Lucie Nekrasova, international teachers at SYSU, to give lectures to the students. With valuable teaching experience and native pronunciation, Vladimir delivered a lecture and encouraged the students to talk in English. Lucie gave an interesting introduction to her country France in fluent English. In the lecture, she introduced traditional costumes, ancient churches and classic breakfasts. In these activities, ComeEn volunteers assisted the international teachers to correct the students’ pronunciation.

These activities showed ComeEn’s creativity and vigor, and provided the middle school students with a chance to improve their oral English as well as broaden their horizons.
