The "Olympics" of college students innovation and entrepreneurship practice
Lu Yongzheng, Secretary of the Secretariat of the CYL Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He pointed out that the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has indicated that the whole party “should care about the young people, learn about what they have in mind, encourage their growth and support them in pursuing careers in an entrepreneurial spirit". As a socially influential collegiate entrepreneurship contest, the CHALLENGE CUP should always adhere to its purpose —"cultivate awareness of innovation, inspire creative thinking, enhance the ability to create, and foster entrepreneurial talents’, so as to train more high-quality young talents for the Party and the country. In the future, in creating a better environment for college students to start an undertaking, the CHALLENGE CUP should pay more attention to such elements as cultural creativity, high-tech elements and new business models, and focus on exploring a CHN (China) mode in the new era, so as to open up a brighter future for collegiate entrepreneurship.
The National College Students Business Plan Competition is one of the two national college students extracurricular academic practice competitions under the banner of the CHALLENGE CUP, the other one being the CHALLENGE CUP National College Students Extracurricular Science and Technology Works Competition. These two events are held in turn every two years. Since the first competition held in 1999, the CHALLENGE CUP College Students Business Plan Competition has developed into the largest and most influential collegiate entrepreneurship contest nationwide with great social, economic and talent benefits, and it is hailed as the "Olympics" of college students innovation and entrepreneurship practice. Themed with "meeting the challenge, creating our future", the current competition has attracted millions of college students from over 1,000 universities across the country since its launch in March this year.
