The “Training Seminar on Judicature and Media in Internet Age” was hosted by Omnimedia Research Institute of SYSU. Staff from judicial authority and the press, as well as more than 60 teachers and students from SCD, attended the meeting. The discussion consisted of three parts: “freedom of expression and protection of personality rights in Internet Age”, "Judicature publicity and information publicity”, and “Media Report and Judicial Justice in Internet Age”. Nine staffers from universities, the press and judicial department delivered lectures, combining their own research orientations and cases encountered in work. The lectures discussed mainly about, under the background of Internet Age, how can the press, journalists and general public respect facts while expressing their will freely; how can laws defend the public’s personality rights; how to deal with the relationship between media and judicature; how to enhance research on media law, media and judicature, so as to realize the pursuit of democracy and justice and to promote the advancement of democracy and the rule of law.
