Lately, weibo user @Sunto_GZ from SYSU posted a hand-drawn map of South Campus of SYSU on her own microblog. What surprised her was that, the arbitrary work was reposted many times and recommended by well-known microblog users.
There were major buildings of Kangle Yuan of South Campus on the map. The drawer drew the buildings and paths with concise strokes, and marked them with names. Vividly, the elephant symbolized the biology museum of SYSU, the butterfly the Biology Department, and the rice and chopsticks the Xue Yi Canteen.
Then who was the drawer of this lovely map? The reporter learnt that, the drawer was not a child but a teacher, Professor Cui Xintu from School of Physics and Engineering, SYSU. Professor Cui told us, since the graduation season was coming, and she loved the campus of SYSU, and then she decided to depict arbitrarily. It was arbitrary indeed. Professor Cui composed the map on an A4 paper, which took a bit more than one hour. Since the size was limited, the marks on the map just symbolized partial buildings of Kangle Yuan, not all. She said that she never thought that the arbitrary map would be a craze online. She also hoped that she can further complete it and then integrate the whole map.
