Source: School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

At about 7pm on August 8, Yao Honghu, a grade 2010 chemical engineering undergraduate student from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University, together with Hu Yuedong, a new graduate from Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering, saved a drowning man from the Pearl River near the North Gate of Sun Yat-sen University. The three are all safe and sound. After the rescue, Yao Honghu and Hu Yuedong left the scene quietly.

During the whole rescuing process, the two young men were calm, rational and resolute. This shows the comprehensive qualities of university students, and vividly interprets the Guangdong spirit in the new era: morality, credibility and quickness in action.
