The award ceremony of 2012 “CTEG Scholarship” was successfully held at the School of Environmental Science and Engineering on East Campus on the afternoon of October 30. Professor Li Ping, Deputy Secretary of SYSU Party Committee, Mr. Lu Yili, Executive Director of Chongto Environmental Group (CTEG), Mr. Feng Zhixing, General Manager of the Guangdong Senyang Environmental Protection Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd., Mr. Du Daohong, General Manager of To Kee Holdings Ltd., Mr. Yao Zhaojun, Office Director of CTEG, Ms. Zhou Wenfeng, Secretary to Chairman of Board and Deputy Office Director of CTEG, Professor Qiu Rongliang, Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, and guests from within and outside the university were invited to attend the ceremony. Over 200 students and teachers from the School of Environmental Science and Engineering participated in the ceremony.

In her speech, Deputy Secretary Li Ping expressed gratitude on behalf of SYSU to Chongto Environmental Group for their great kindness and generosity toward the School of Environmental Science and Engineering. She emphasized that the cultivation of university talents cannot be separated from the support of all sectors of society. In this new historical era, the environmental cause has ushered in new development opportunities. She hoped that students could work harder, grasp frontier technologies in their specialties, devote themselves to the business and society with good overall quality and professionalism, take concrete actions to realize their professional values, and contribute to the development of environmental protection.

Mr. Lu Yili, Executive Director of CTEG, congratulated the winning students in his speech. He hoped to further cooperation and exchange with the School of Environmental Science and Engineering and train more talents for the future of the environmental protection industry. Dean Qiu Rongliang announced the winners and expressed heartfelt thanks to CTEG.

Executive Director Lu Yili and Deputy Secretary Li Ping presented the award certificates to 30 winning students. The winning student representative Guo Xiaoshuang shared the difficulties and harvest she encountered during the four years’ study as well as her experience and sentiment after winning “CTEG Scholarship” in two consecutive years, and sincerely expressed her genuine gratitude to CTEG and the teachers.

The School of Environmental Science and Engineering signed a scholarship donation agreement with CTEG on April 15th, 2011, and presented the first “CTEG Scholarship” last October.
