Executive Deputy Secretary and Vice President Chen Chunsheng and Consul-General Yang Chang Soo successively gave a speech at the closing ceremony. They both hoped that through such platforms as the Korean Culture Festival, more young students could pay attention to Korean culture and make greater contributions to China-Korea friendship.
Accompanied by the neat and rhythmic drum beats, the gala started with a traditional Korean performance一Samulnori (Game of Four Things). The energetic performances of Korean songs and the dream-like Chinese and Korean traditional wedding show fully inspired the passion of the audience. The hot performance of hip hop and the impressive Korean speech allowed the audience to be immersed in an audio-visual feast. The dancers in Korean traditional costume with folding fans in their hands danced as trippingly as beautiful butterflies, pushing the gala to the climax. The passionate and encouraging dubbing performance, and the videos elaborately recorded by Korean students and Chinese students, without exception, reflected the positive and uplifting spirit of Chinese and Korean college students and their love for the cultures of the two countries. The gala ended with a chorus 一 "Love” sung by the whole Korean class. The melodious and touching melody seemed to be saying that the twenty years of China-Korea friendship was also a lasting and wonderful song.
Before the closing gala, Executive Deputy Secretary and Vice President Chen Chunsheng met with Consul-General Yang Chang Soo. The two sides expressed their aspiration to continue strengthening cooperation. Dean of SIS Huang Guowen and other representatives also attended the meeting.
The Korean Culture Festival is a cultural event hosted by SIS with the aim of promoting cultural exchange. Since 2006, it has been held successfully six times and has always attracted the attention and received compliments from the University and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Guangzhou. The 7th Korean Culture Festival consists of six parts: the opening ceremony, a speech contest, a dubbing contest, a singing contest, a garden party of Korean food and the closing ceremony. It is also a gift presented by SYSU students to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Republic of Korea.
