On the evening of December 16, “Music for Fairy Tales - New Year’s Concert”, hosted by the Symphony Orchestra of East Campus, was held in the Student Activity Center.

The concert was divided into three parts. The first part included two chapters: Joe Hisaishi’s series medley and Western classical music. The middle part was the four hands piano performance and the final part was the collective ensemble of Swan Lake Suite. As the director’s hands went up and down, graceful music filled the air. Everyone just held his breath and listened to the music quietly. Some people closed their eyes and tilted the head to one side. Others followed along with music by shaking their bodies. After every piece of music, the audience responded, moment by moment, with warm applause and cheers. The last piece of music was Radetzky March. It had a sprightly and intense rhythm, which led to the warm interaction between the director and the audience. Following the director’s instructions, the audience accompanied players with orderly and finger-popping applause, creating a warm atmosphere.
At the end of the concert, the two masters, incumbent and former, delivered a speech respectively. They not only offered their sincere thanks to the orchestra members who had made great efforts to that night’s performance and the audience who had carefully appreciated the concert, but also expressed their best wishes for the better future of the symphony orchestra.
