The “Sino-French Education Cooperative Union” Thematic Seminar Held in SYSU

On January 6th, the “Sino-French Education Cooperative Union Thematic Seminar — Cultivation of International Competitiveness” was held at the Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology on Zhuhai Campus, SYSU. An Yan, Deputy Director of Division of European Affairs, Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education, and 36 representatives from 13 universities and organizations including Tsinghua University, Nanjing University and Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics, attended the seminar. The themes of the seminar mainly included: international accreditation of education, construction of Chinese and foreign teacher teams, Sino-foreign joint laboratories, student overseas exchanges, etc.

Deputy Director An Yan expressed his congratulations on the successful opening of the seminar, gave comments on the work of international exchange between Chinese and French universities, and made important arrangements for the work of the Sino-French Education Cooperative Union. Wang Biao, Dean of the Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology, Sun Yat-sen University, and Xiong Zhang, Dean of the Sino-French Engineer School, Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics, delivered a keynote speech respectively. Wen Wushao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, SYSU and representatives from other universities also made wonderful introductions to international exchange, especially Sino-French exchange and cooperation.

The “Sino-French Education Cooperative Union” was initiated in 2011 by Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics and joined by 16 preponderant universities nationwide with Sino-French joint education programs to carry out work under the guidance of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education. It aims to give full play to team advantages, have full coordination and share resources to enhance Sino-French education cooperation and promote the international development of higher education in China.
