At the season of graduation when phoenix flowers are blossoming, the 2019 graduates of Sun Yat-sen University will put on their degree gowns to attend the graduation ceremonies. Keeping the university motto in mind: “Study Extensively, Enquire Accurately, Reflect Carefully, Discriminate Clearly, Practice Earnestly”, the SYSUers are embarking on a new journey in their pursuit of excellence.

Recently, the School of Atmospheric Sciences, School of Communication and Design, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Geography and Planning, School of Electronics and Information Technology, School of International Studies, Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology, School of Data and Computer Science, International School of Business & Finance, and Guanghua School of Stomatology have announced a series of activities in the graduation season.

School of Atmospheric Sciences
On the afternoon of June 14, the School of Atmospheric Sciences held the 2019 graduation ceremony in the auditorium on Guangzhou East Campus. The graduates signed their names on the signature wall, and received souvenirs prepared by the school. Professor Dong Wenjie, Dean of the School of Atmospheric Sciences, presented a graduation roll to each graduate. Professor LV Daren, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was also invited to attend the graduation ceremony. The graduates were inspired to march forward and explore endless mysteries of the atmosphere.


School of Communication and Design
On June 19, the School of Communication and Design will hold the 2019 graduation red carpet ceremony on Guangzhou East Campus. The graduates will take the graduation photo before the archway. At noon, the School of Communication and Design will hold the 2019 degree ceremony for postgraduate students in the school’s auditorium.


School of Pharmaceutical Sciences
On June 20, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences will hold the 2019 graduation conference and the 2019 postgraduate degree ceremony in B102 of Administration Building on Guangzhou East Campus. After the ceremony, all graduates will take a group photo in front of the Library on Guangzhou East Campus.


School of Geography and Planning
On the afternoon of June 21, the School of Geography and Planning will hold the 2019 graduation ceremony and 2019 postgraduate degree ceremony in the lecture hall of the Third Teaching Building on Guangzhou South Campus. The supervisors will present degree certificates to the graduates at the ceremony. The graduates will take graduation photos in front of the Swasey Hall, and attend a dinner afterwards.


School of Electronics and Information Technology
On the morning of June 24, the School of Electronics and Information Technology will hold the postgraduate degree ceremony in the school building. The dean and supervisors will confer degrees to the postgraduates. The school will show the students’ graduation album and set up an area for their family members and relatives to attend the ceremony. After the ceremony, the teachers and students will have a dinner together.


School of International Studies
On June 24, the School of International Studies will hold the 2019 graduation ceremony and the postgraduate degree ceremony in the new Gymnasium on Zhuhai Campus. The graduates will take graduation photos in front of the Library on Zhuhai Campus, and attend a graduation dinner hosted by the school afterwards.


Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology
On the noon of June 24, the Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology will hold the 2019 graduation ceremony in the Library on Zhuhai Campus. The graduates will take a group photo in front of the Library, and then attend the graduation ceremony in the multiple function hall of the Library. In the afternoon, the graduates will take their graduation photos in front of the Library, and attend a graduation dinner and party afterwards.


School of Data and Computer Science
On the morning of June 25, the School of Data and Computer Science will hold the 2019 postgraduate graduation ceremony and 2019 postgraduate degree ceremony in B102 Lecture Hall of the Administration Building on Guangzhou East Campus. The school dean will confer degree to each graduate at the ceremony.


International School of Business & Finance
On the morning of June 25, the International School of Business & Finance will hold the 2019 postgraduate degree ceremony in the multiple function hall of the Library on Zhuhai Campus. The graduates will take graduation photos in front of the Library on Zhuhai Campus. Afterwords, the school will hold graduation celebration activities.


Guanghua School of Stomatology
On the afternoon of June 25, the Guanghua School of Stomatology will hold the graduation ceremony and degree ceremony for 2019 postgraduate students in the conference center on the 9th floor of the Hospital of Stomatology, Sun Yat-sen University.
