Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University First Vice Rector Andrey Svistunov Leads Delegation on Visit to Sun Yat-sen University

On the afternoon of January 23, 2018, a four person delegation from the Sechenov University, led by First Vice Rector Andrey Svistunov, visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU).

SYSU Vice President Li Mengfeng led a reception and cooperation meeting for the visiting delegation at Zhongshan Building on SYSU’s Guangzhou South Campus. Vice President Li welcomed the delegation on their visit to SYSU and briefed the guests on recent initiatives at SYSU, including the campus construction and disciplines development. He expressed his hope that the two universities will be able to explore deepened collaboration in medical and health sciences fields.

Prof. Andrey Svistunov mentioned he was impressed by SYSU’s strengths in the medical disciplines and looked forward to exploring new areas for cooperation in medicine, including symposiums, joint research, and academic exchange, among other programs and areas.

SYSU representatives at the meeting also included Prof. Song Erwei, Dean of the Zhongshan School of Medicine; Prof. Wu Chuanbin, Former Deputy Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences; Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation & Exchange; and others. 

With over 250 years of history, Sechenov University is the largest center for teaching and research in Russia for health science, medicine, pharmacy and related fields.
