On March 29, 2017, Ms. Lin Huiqing, Vice Minister of Education, visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Prof. Chen Chunsheng, Secretary of SYSU Party Committee, and Prof. Luo Jun, President of SYSU, reported the work of the University.

Vice Minister Lin Huiqing came to the Medical Simulation Center of SYSU, visited the teaching labs, observed the clinical practice of medical students, and listened to the introduction of medical education and the training model of medical talents. She affirmed the advanced ideas and high quality of medical talent cultivation at SYSU.

Vice Minister Lin Huiqing also viewed the exhibition on SYSU’s achievements in talent cultivation and teaching reform. She listened to the presentations made by Secretary Chen Chunsheng and President Luo Jun on the talent cultivation system and the overall development planning at the University, and inquired in detail about the construction of talent cultivation systems, layout of academic disciplines and transformation of research results. She spoke highly of SYSU’s educational philosophy, talent cultivation design, disciplinary layout and comprehensive reform, and encouraged the University to give full play to its disciplinary strengths and characteristics, keep innovating the talent cultivation model, strive toward greater achievements in reform, and make contributions to the development of the country.

Mr. Wei Zhonglin, Deputy Director General of Department of Education of Guangdong Province; Prof. Li Mengfeng, Vice President of SYSU; Prof. Xiao Haipeng, President of The First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU and Director of Medical Simulation Center of SYSU; Prof. Song Erwei, Dean of Zhongshan School of Medicine and President of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital; Prof. Wu Zhongdao, Party Secretary of Zhongshan School of Medicine; and directors of relevant functional departments of SYSU also participated in the event.
